Law 45/2003, from Nov 21st, substituting Law 35/1988, from Nov 22nd, regulating Assisted Reproduction Techniques
By this law the embryos created before November 2003 can be used for research provided that the parents give their informed consent to assign them to a specific research project.

This decree regulates the destiny of those supernumerary human preembryos which were frozen before the coming into force of the law 45/2003 from November 21st, regulating assisted reproduction techniques, and its aim is to determine specific conditions for their use for research purposes.

Order SCO/393/2006, from February 8th, by which organization and functioning of the National Cell Line Bank is established.
National Cell Line Bank is configured as a network structure, whose objective will be to guarantee human embryonic and adult stem cells availability for biomedical research purposes throughout the Spanish Country. It will be organised in separate groups, which will be coordinated by a central node.
